Dr. Prasad Gunaruwan

Dr Gunaruwan graduated from the University of Tasmania in 1996. He started cardiology training in the United Kingdom and completed a PhD in cardiovascular research in Birmingham 2006. Dr Gunaruwan moved to John Hunter Hospital Newcastle NSW to complete the cardiology training and joined Gold Coast University Hospital in 2014 and continues to be affiliated with Gold Coast Public Health Services.

Dr Gunaruwan is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians and a fellow of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand.  Dr Gunaruwan has published widely in many reputed journals and continues to be active in cardiovascular research.

Dr Gunaruwan offers a full range of general cardiology consultancy services including coronary disease management, arrhythmia management, heart failure and inherited heart disease management, stress testing and stress echocardiography, echocardiography and trans-oesophageal echocardiography and Holter monitoring.
